AFC Uckfield Town Vs. Loxwood (3/9/22)
Cousins gets Loxwood Underway. Fairly even opening 10 minutes with both sides having chances but it’s Uckfield with ample opportunities to open the scoring, which they fail to take. Cousins goes down inside the area after a weak challenge from a uckfield defender. The referees point to the spot and make the first questionable decision of the game. Devon Fender steps up for Loxwood, he slots the pen firmly into the left hand side of the goal. The AFC keeper can only dive that way and hope, 1-0 Loxwood
End to end stuff here as Dowdell gets on the end of a wonderful outside of the boot pass from Tom Lyon’s, but fires just past the far post. Harvery Burgess rifles the ball into the side netting giving the goalkeeper no chance gives AFC there first goal and way back into the game. 1-1 at the Oaks
Good defending from the Oakmen as Dowdell, a man who’s looking very dangerous for Loxwood, dances around the Uckfield defences but results in it being drilled wide as the Oakmen breathe a sigh of relief.
Popell unmarked in the box has a free header, but can’t direct it goalwards as Loxwood waste another chance
Harvey Burgess drills one to the keepers left which forces the Loxwood number one into a fantastic diving save. The resulting corner is swung in from Jamie Blackford which Cam Williams rises highest to head home! 2-1 To the Oakmen
George Cousins bundles it over in a scrappy goal to level the score immediately after the restart. SOLOMON TAIWO REGAINS THE LEAD JUST SECONDS LATER!! BACK INFRONT WITH A SUPERB STRIKE OUTSIDE THE BOX INTO THE TOP CORNER 3-2 to the Oakmen, the lead for Loxwood didn't last very long at all!!
Loxwood fans are up for this, as they fight for an equaliser on and off the pitch. Harvey Burgess gets his second of the game, slots it past the keeper with ease for Uckfield’s fourth of the day. This man can not stop scoring 4 in 2 for the young winger. Devon Fender gets one back for Loxwood. 4-3 as we enter the final phase of the match. Nervy end to the match here as Loxwood look to get something from this game
